Craving a bold flavor twist? These Go-to Baked Glazed Teriyaki Chicken Wings are the perfect mix of crispy and saucy!
The word teriyaki derives from the noun teri, which refers to a shine or luster given by the sugar content in the tare, and yaki, which refers to the cooking method of grilling or broiling. Traditionally, the meat is dipped in or brushed with sauce several times during cooking.

But these aren’t just delicious. They’re also a fantastic way to bring people together. Whether it’s a chill family dinner or a fun party snack, glazed wings are always the star of the table. Plus, they’re super easy to make—and way healthier than frying.

Baked Glazed Teriyaki Chicken Wings
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 60
- Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
- Yield: 4 servings depending on size
- Category: Dinner
- Method: Easy
Description
What if I told you these teriyaki chicken wings are baked, not fried, and still taste incredible? Crispy, sticky, and sweet? The snack you didn’t know you needed.
Ingredients
- 8 chicken thighs (or wings if you’re feeling traditional)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ¼ cup teriyaki sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- ¼ cup maple syrup (trust me, it works); if you do not have maple syrup, feel free to use honey.
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- Salt and freshly cracked pepper (just a pinch of both)
Instructions
- Heat your oven to 400°F.
- Spread the chicken thighs out in a single layer in a glass baking dish. Give them some space to get nice and crispy.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, teriyaki sauce, ketchup, maple syrup, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Pour that sauce over the chicken.
- Make sure every piece gets coated.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for about an hour.
- Turn the chicken occasionally so it cooks evenly and soaks up all that saucy goodness.
The original recipe called for honey, but I swapped in maple syrup because that’s what I had on hand. Honestly? It’s a game-changer. The slight caramelized flavor pairs perfectly with the teriyaki.
Serve these up as-is or with Artichoke, Bacon, and Kale with shaved Parmesan,
