This Masala and Green Chili Spicy Crab dish has a fragrant medley of spices and is best eaten with your fingers.

A very quick and easy Masala and Green Chili Spicy Crab will be enjoyed by all, it is absolutely delicious.

Yield: 4 servings

Masala and Green Chili Spicy Crab

Masala and Green Chili Crab served with dhania

Please note you can always use less Masala and more green chilies if you like.

Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 55 minutes


  • 2 kg crab
  • 10-12 ripe tomatoes
  • 3 onion
  • 3 green chillies
  • Curry leaves
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 3 tsp Kashmiri Masala
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • ½ tsp ginger and garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind, mixed in 2 cup warm water
  • Salt


Fry onion and garlic in oil.

Add turmeric and Masala and then the ginger and garlic paste.

Thereafter you will add tomatoes, green chilies, curry leaves, and salt.

Cook for 10 minutes or until tomatoes have softened.

Add crab and cook for 5 minutes.

Add tamarind water and cook for 20 minutes.

Switch off the stove and garnish with dhania,
