Does Onion Bhajias contain potatoes?

The ingredients you will need are equal quantities of finely sliced onion and grated potato. You will also need a few spices – ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, garam masala, and chili flakes.

What is a Bhajia

A Bhajia is any bite-sized vegetable that has been coated in a delicious gram flour batter and then deep-fried to perfection.

Yield: approximately 20-24 depending on size

How to make the easiest and tastiest Potato and Onion Bhajias at home. You will love it and it comes together in record time.

Ingredients

  • 1½ Cup (375 ml) Chickpea Flour
  • 1 Cup (250 ml) Self-Raising Flour
  • 2 tsp. (10 ml) Red Chili Flakes
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) Paprika/Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Dhania Powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Jeera Powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Ground Garlic
  • 2-3 Large Onions (thinly sliced)
  • 3-4 Potatoes (thinly sliced)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients with enough water to form a thick batter.
  2. Add the onion and potatoes to the batter and mix well.
  3. Drop a spoonful of the mixture into deep oil and fry till golden.
  4. Serve and enjoy!!
  5. You may add your choice of vegetables e.g., lettuce, spinach, green bananas, jackfruit, eggplant, etc.
