Savory Chutney Bread brings big flavor without the fuss. One bowl, no waiting, all flavor, exactly how homemade bread should be.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Mrs. Ball’s Original Chutney
- 2/3 cup white wine (plus a glass for the cook!)
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt (skip or reduce if your deli meat is salty)
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mild cheddar (mix white and yellow if you like)
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- 1/3 cup cooked bacon bits
- 9 oz deli corned beef, cubed
- 1 1/2 cups pitted olives (black or mix of black and green), chopped
- 1 tsp dried salad herb mix (or parsley if you’ve got it)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 360°F (180°C).
- Grease a loaf pan.
- In a big bowl, whisk together the wine, olive oil, eggs, and salt.
- Add flour and baking powder on top, don’t mix just yet.
- Toss in the chopped onions, bacon, olives, herbs, and corned beef.
- Add the chutney and cheese. Now mix everything together until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your loaf pan. Sprinkle a little extra herb mix on top.
- Bake for about 1 hour, or until golden and set in the middle.
Fun Tip:
Taste the wine while cooking, totally optional, but highly recommended!
