Savoury Mince Pie

TRH Savoury Mince Pie

1 Roll shop bought Puff Pastry
450 g extra lean beef mincemeat
1 large onion chopped
1 large tomato chopped skin removed
1 tsp garlic minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp tomato sauce
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp sugar
1/4 cup boiling water
Spices: use in accordance to your taste. Salt, white pepper, aromat, Paprika spice, garlic and herb seasoning, thyme, origanum, green onion spice, pinch of cayenne pepper
1 large carrot sliced into rings
1 large potatoes cubed
1/4 cup frozen peas
1 whisked egg for brushing pastry.
Saute onions and garlic till tender then add beef mince and brown for 3 mins. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste and chopped skinned tomato, sugar, W. sauce cook for 3 mins. Add veg and water and cook a further 20 mins. Let filling cool.
Preheat oven to 180 C . Grease an ovenproof dish
Divide pastry in half and line the Pyrex dish with a base with 1/2 pastry. Add cooled filling and then top with the other half of pastry. Brush with egg wash. Bake for 30 mins. Serve with salads
