these garter snakes really are under-rated.
I love their textures and the way that they move.
Hi Adelaide. Thanks for dropping in and yes they are so harmless to humans, and they eat the pests that wreak havoc in your garden, but I must admit when we initially saw the snake at the BBQ where we stood about ½ hour earlier it did take me by surprise but when we realized it’s only a small garter snake I was fine. It did not take long for the fellow to move away to a more comfortable and safer area.
I’d have run a mile, Esmé. I’m terrified of snakes and sharks, but not necessarily in that order.
This one totally harmless as its a small garter snake and he left not long after we spotted it.
