On my table for breakfast was an all-time favorite Ham Cheese Egg Toast
Is Ham a breakfast food?
Ham and eggs are popular dishes often served as breakfast meals in the United States. It is also consumed as a dinner or supper dish, for example in parts of the Southern United States, and is sometimes served as a lunch dish.
Toast is the bread that has been browned by radiant heat. The browning is the result of a Maillard reaction, altering the flavor of the bread and making it firmer so that it is easier to spread toppings on it. Toasting is a common method of making stale bread more palatable.
- 3-4 Eggs (beaten)
- Cheese (grated)
- Ham (diced)
- 2 tsp (10 ml) Butter (softened)
- 1 tsp (5 ml) Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp (5 ml) Dried Mixed Herbs
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) Paprika
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Add all the seasonings and the butter to the eggs and beat well.
- Pour the mixture into a plate, dip the bread into the egg on both sides then cook in a hot pan.
- Flip once then top with ham and cheese then flip again to melt the cheese.
