What are blinis made of?

Blinis are yeasted pancakes, traditionally from Russia, and made from buckwheat flour and served with caviar. Make up a batch of these blinis for a party – if the recipe gives you too many you can freeze them. Delicious served with smoked salmon and soured cream, or maybe a spot of caviar.

Are blinis served warm or cold?

Blini can be served slightly warm or at room temperature. Once topped, they are best served immediately. Like all starch-based products, they can get soggy with time

Are blinis the same as Pikelets?

Blinis are the Russian equivalent of our pikelets and are often served as small finger foods with sweet or savory toppings. While they are often made the same way as our pikelets, blinis should be made quite differently using yeast instead of baking powder as a raising agent
