Ingredients
Cheese Christmas Trees and Snowball Bites
- 400g Daiya vegan cream cheese at room temperature (2 x 200g tubs)
- 170g Boursin Dairy-free Garlic and Herbs Vegan Cheese
- 225g Daiya vegan cheddar cheese shreds
- 10 ml onion powder
- 5 ml garlic powder
- 1 ml salt
- 1 ml black pepper
- 5 ml paprika
- 1 ml cayenne pepper
Topping
- 150 ml finely chopped pecans.
- 20 ml dried chives
- 20 ml dried parsley
- 125 ml Easy Vegan Bacon Bits
- Thin Salted Pretzels Sticks for Skewers – one per cheese Snowball.
Instructions
- Allow cream cheese to soften to room temperature.
- In a large bowl, blend the room-temperature cream cheese, cheddar cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper until well incorporated and smooth.
- Place the bowl in the fridge for about a half-hour to set and firm up.
- Use a 5 ml measuring spoon to make uniform balls.
- Roll the ball with your hands to get an even round shape.
- Stir together the topping ingredients.
- If needed, you can drop it in a small electric chopper and blitz it max 4 times, depending on how big the pecans. It should not be paste, it needs to be still bits and pieces.
- Roll the cheese balls in finely chopped mixture and coat it completely.
- Leave it on a parchment lined baking tray and use a thin pretzel stick as a skewer and stick it in the ball.
- Add the pretzel stick just before serving, otherwise it will get soggy and go soft.
- Transfer it to the fridge to set as it will become soft from working with it as your hands are warm.
- Once set transfer to an airtight container and leave it in the fridge until ready to serve.
