#85 Senior Salon

Let’s celebrate our quasquihebdomades anniversary!

Are you ready, for the new week of #85 (or in fact the125th) Senior Salon?

Aug 17 – Aug 22, 2020, 2:00 pm PST

The word quasquicentennial, meaning 125th anniversary, was engineered by… well, an engineer! In 1961, Frank W. Hatten of Delavan, Illinois, asked Funk & Wagnalls, publishers of a popular encyclopedia and dictionaries (now online only), what word could be coined to mean 125th anniversary.

For any of you that know Latin, so please forgive me but the best I could concoct on such short notice would be quasquihebdomades (125 weeks) as I could not get hold of Ken Galloway to help me out on this one 😍

Believe it or not, but despite the fact that we show this to be our 85th #Senisal (2019 and 2020), it should actually ready 125th from inception in March 2018.

Dear #SeniSal members,

Yes, it’s true, and hard to believe but we have reached out 125th weekly edition of #Senisal.  I started with this in March 2018.  Foolishily, in 2019 I restarted at #1 again, which I should never have done.  Anyway, I calculated that this week we celebrate our 125th edition here of #SeniSal.

Come, let us all make a special effort and share this post together with the link/s you leave here today.

If each one of you can take 2 minutes to hit the share button, can you think how wide this message will spread out and how many more participants we will have!  Please friends, we need your support.  The more you give, the more you will receive.  This is part of Caring for one another!

#85 (125th) Senior Salon

Thanks for your loyal support.  Please may we respectfully ask each and every participant that you keep sharing, and promoting Senior Salon on your own blog?  We do require and need your help to keep #SeniSal growing and the only way we can grow, would be for you to share your links, but also to tell your own followers to come and participate.

We have two banners you can choose from to promote Senior Salon.   Thank you for being part of this weekly feature.

Thanks, that we can count on your support ♥.

TOP 10 Senisal POSTS

Please revisit last week’s Senior Salon as we received some great and wonderful posts.  The fact that the entries closed, does not mean that you are unable to visit and read, comment, and share those posts.

We continue to ask for your support and help to share our weekly post throughout the week when you come to share your post via Inlinkz.  If you do not share and help #SeniSal will not be able to survive.  This is as much for you all as it’s for your hosts and we really ask for your weekly support in sharing the Monday post on your social media and add the #Senisal Banner to the post that you share and the Winner Banner when you made the TOP 10 list.

By sharing the TOP 10, I hope this will encourage you to make a conscious effort to get your post also listed in the TOP 10 MOST POPULAR LIST.  Instead of having the top 10 most popular songs, we now feature the TOP 10 MOST POPULAR POSTS.

    • Thank you so much, yes it’s been a while and I still love and learn from you all weekly. Please continue to spread the word by sharing my weekly post on your SM and adding the feature to your blog. Also let your own followers know then they can come and join us as well. Thanks in advance and thanks for sharing your links.

    • Jean, Thanks, but (hihi) as mentioned I was unable to get in touch with the engineer Ken Galloway over the weekend, he must have taken time off, or I would have asked him for a Latin word for 125 weeks, so for now we will have to make do with the self coined word quasquihebdomades (125 weeks) word.
Thanks for your support, sharing of this post on your SM and adding your links, as well as Reading and commenting on others.

    • Jean, thanks for your kind words, and always sharing your links. Please may I ask that you somehow update your readers on your blog of this weekly linkup and ask them to come and participate as this will be so much fun for them as well.

    • Hi Darlene, Yes I am also still amazed when I recalculated and noticed how far we have come. Thanks for your loyal support and you have made the top List so many times. Well done. Thank you for sharing

    • Yes I deliberately changes it as its for sure not 125 Years, but 125 weeks is a long time and Love it. Thanks for your continued support, participation and sharing on the weekly post

  1. How did that happen? I sneaked into the top ten with a music post! I’ll keep trying: conversion of the many is now a realistic objective 😉

I’ll be sharing this on Twitter and my Facebook page, as per usual.

    • Clive, I am so happy for you that you continuously make the top ten. This is no surprise to me, keep up the good word and thank you for always sharing the Monday post and adding your links.
