Ingredients

Doughnut / Donut

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 tbsp. soft butter
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 cups flour
  • 4 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 3/4 tsp nutmeg

Cinnamon Coating

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add milk, egg, and only 3 cups of flour. baking powder. salt. cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well with an electric mixture.
  3. Then mix in the additional 2½ to 3 cups flour to form a soft dough that can be rolled out and shaped into a doughnut/donut shape.
  4. Fry in medium oil until it has a nice golden brown.
  5. Let it cool and then roll in cinnamon sugar.
