Meet Schnippelboy – It is a diary of our everyday kitchen.
There are photos and recipes of our everyday kitchen without claim to perfection recipes usually without measure and weight. From time to time also a somewhat more demanding dish.  Thought as a cookbook for the grandchildren when they go out of the house so that not all family recipes get lost-while writing and Photographing the blog and browsing through other blogs, the desire to cook and to eat as well as to present – the ingredients should be as far as possible regional and seasonal.

    • Awesome – thanks for the confirmation Gary. Please share, share, share if you do not mind on your blog, in order for your blogger friends to also join TRH and then we can get them on the list as well. Thanks in advance for considering reblogging 🙂

      • I’m due to update a few blogging things shortly and will add sharing to that. I often drop posts onto Twitter and StumbleUpon too. Started doing that after joining a blogging group on Facebook recently. Awesome community for bigging up blogs and social media sharing if you’re interested?

          • I was reticent re StumbleUpon until joining the FB group. My stats showed it out scored referral traffic 10:1 on Twitter. I find it amazing that I’m hooking up with bloggers from here all over now too. Need more hours in the day mind lol

                    • I have a blogger spotlight on me going on today in a Facebook group called Big Up Your Blog. It’s aimed at promoting my blog, but….I posted my reblog of your post on social link ups. It’s getting Twitter and StumbleUpon shares so you may get some unexpected traffic and possibly some new connections….err…hope you don’t mind!
And Happy Easter to you too 😊

                    • Gary. WOW WOW WOW. You truly are amazing for doing this for me. Thank you so much. I cannot thank you enough for sharing my little blog in this way. I am totally flattered and humbled by your kindness. Thank you my friend and blessed easter to you. 🙏

                    • My pleasure and I’m aware so far this year my blogging has been a bit lapse so this is a way of making up for that and re-connecting with people. If it helps you then it will help others to find new blogs too so me helping you is helping you help them (I think that makes sense!!!). Happy Easter 🙂

                    • That’s brilliant to hear! Tweet notifications have gone ballistic today so I intend on replying and RTing over the next few days to keep it ticking over. Hopefully those connecting will also spread the word too. 🙂

                    • Gary I am in the midst of preparing my Easter lunch but cannot get away from the PC. I am gobsmacked and cannot thank you enough. Thanks for all the time you spend on promoting this post and in turn my blog. If I can do anything for you, just let me know and consider it done my friend.

                    • My bad again! Apologies for the luncheon interruptions!! I hope that indicates you have one or two notifications to ponder 😊 I actually think linking bloggers together for co-ordinated shout outs is a good idea. I k is everyone doesn’t do Facebook, but given the group I’m in is so prolific in engaging it must be possible to do something similar on a blog platform. Some of the ones have commented direct on the Facebook page by the way and may hop to yours direct. Something I’m intending on doing now though is stumbling as well as tweeting blogs I visit. Traffic flow has grown today with large referrals from those. I’ve underestimated the value of persistent sharing and linking up with people who reciprocate. Maybe revisit this thought after Easter?

                    • Gary – nothing to apologize for. I am just prepping and leaving in ½ hour to join with our daugher and son and their families.
I have joined the FB closed goup Big Up you Blog and have been accepted, and left a note there. I am totally overwhelmed by the interest and comments, sharing all over etc. I have updated the list with some information already received, and will tweet and stumble the list tomorrow once things settle down on my end.
Please let me know what I can tweet or stumble for you. Anytime my friend.

                    • I’m about to set up a new theme so might be an idea to wait until I’m up and running there… unless the dreaded procrastinate turns up!!! might be a good time to do a reveal post then methinks as a sort of brand refresh reveal type of thing. Brilliant to see you in that group too; highly supportive, ready to answer questions on anything and share like mad; just what you want in networking. Bring the list link into next weekend; there is a SocialSaturday share (often Twitter) and a SundayBlogShare which is blog posts. Oh and they also do ThrowBackThursday so three opportunities to boost profiles 🙂 Enjoy your weekend 🙂

                    • Thank you for all your support and lve. Please drop me a note when you’re ready with this new idea then I will pin, tweet and instagram and FB it for you.
I still want to work my way through all those that responded on your post re me and check them out this weekend and follow them on twitter or FB where I can.

                    • Certainly will 🙂 mind you, probably be pestering you on comments more now we’ve connected properly 🙂 I just need to check I’ve got you on those other sites too!
Hope its not given you too much work; The post is still being tweeted BTW; as I reply to my tonnes of twitter notifications from yesterday too 🙂

                    • Never ever Gary. Today is the day that I will sit down and get to all these lovely people and stalk them all.
You can pester me as much as you like. You help me, I help you, we all work together.

                    • Good for you; although…now you’ve hit the SocialSaturday thing too I see 🙂 Lots of food blogger there too btw. not to mention witches… odd that! Mind you; I really ought to be thinking dinner now lol

                    • I think often that there are bloggers new and old (both to blogging and across age ranges) that really want to network, but sometimes finding the right place with the right people is the tricky bit. Working together is not just added value because you meet people and actually get to know them, but it also helps promote blogs. Sounds like we are in different time zones….UK here, so it’s now Sunday morning 😊

                    • Yes I cannot thank you enough for all the help you have given me. Twitter went off the clock yesterday due to your help. 😍😍😍
Time difference, yes we are as I am in Vancouver, Canada.

                    • That’s worth knowing actually; If we are ahead (and I know this from the states) launching here in the morning catches UK and then follows over there. Often there are two spikes in views as a result on the same day. If its the other way round then by the time it reaches here its the next day and folk have moved on. (networking tactic lol). I’m still RTing from Friday too. A few I left replying to so it could filter for a few days 🙂

                    • Solutions not problems as they say in “management” circles. Alas, I am getting rather addicted to this caring and sharing 🙂

                    • That all rather depends if you know Traci York or Samantha Murdoch. Traci I think has commented on Twitter already re this lol

                    • The insights page on here tracks traffic flow and sources of referral so I tend to monitor that primarily for the blog. With Twitter I use the Crowdfire app. Log into Twitter, Google Crowdfire and login via Twitter (Twitter will then automatically seek authorisation to give permission) and it will synch your follower data. The dashboard is easy to navigate and allows you to see more or less anything from inactive following, recent follows, recent unfollows etc. On the free version (which I use) you can follow or unfollow 100 people a day which I find more than enough. I regularly use the unfollow data. That tells me who the follow/unfollow brigade are so I remove them directly from there. I’ve tried a few others such as Tweepi, but for me Crowdfire is better and more intuitive.

                    • Hope it helps and, just to let you know…someone has commented on my FB author page in relation to the reblog post and has, dropped a message saying she has visited you and requested to join in too. Divya Budhraja. She came over from another FB group 🙂

                    • I’ll check it; she’s not a member of the group we are in. Its a different one that was running a FB page link up and she dropped in from that (widening the reach again as it were). I got the impression she’s visited your blog link and added her details there

                    • LOL; easiest way is to drop onto your twitter profile and look at followed numbers. Crowdfire updates live as it happens… just don’t get it to show you the FOLLOWER data and then start unfollowing!! very bad move that one lol

                    • Ooh. Ok quick check on how you are using it. Twitter itself open and logged in; different window go to the crowdfire website and log in via Twitter from there. The Crowdfire site will synch to your account so if you, say unfollow someone, then it will remove them from your Twitter profile and update the numbers followed. Apps don’t integrate into your actual Twitter profile; they work outside of it by synching to it. They effectively enhance your dashboard abilities via an external site. Once done log out of the app or site and go back to your Twitter page and everything you’ve done will be updated already.

                    • Nothing is stupid or silly when you are trying something new; Questions give answers…not asking is when it gets stupid and silly 🙂

                    • I’ve never actually tried scheduling Tweets myself, but their Twitter feed says you can do up to 50 per day; I know you can for Instagram on the same app; but have only heard it can for Twitter as opposed to actually doing it!

                    • Agreed; I think its useful for targeting too; one tweet flips through so fast most of your audience doesn’t see it… enter several schedules aimed at different hashtags! I assume your blog is linked to Twitter to auto post there on publishing?

                    • Gary – I had it autopost directly, but turned that off last night, and this morning received the Crowdfire notification that I my scheduled blog posts did post and then I could schedule those with hastags for today. I only did two to see if its working, and seems like it does. Now just to see when it appears on twitter later in the day as I just selected the ‘bets time’ for now

                    • Found it too! Never considered it before as I was busy thinning out my followed Twitter list and stuck with using Crowdfire to scan those things. Since you mentioned it I’ve explored more and located the write a scheduled post section. Thank you 🙂

                    • Awesome – Now All I must still figure out is how to post to Instagram and Pinterest, as this will also be a huge help. I have Crowdfire to them and all set up just got to work out the rest. I am at present doing 12+ office hours and then getting home I am totally “cooked/fried”, no pun intended, and just do the uploading from FB to the blog and post a hand full and schedule the rest for posting overnight as FB page going crazy at the moment.

                    • Wow; you are busy! I’m not sure I can cope with much more in terms of notifications. At this rate I’ll never write anything!! Had a day of the blog thing today as its been no-stop since last Friday. I could also do with figuring out those two places to auto post to as well. It’s only recently I’ve properly started applying tricks of the trade! All good stuff though 🙂

                    • Gary – I have not been able to get any futher I am pooped after 12-13 hour office days at present and then just do get my FB posts on the blog, so by the time done with that I have no energy left for anything else, but hope to get some of this figured out over the weekend. Should you find any answers please keep me posted. Thanks

                    • Don’t blame you; long days and then more screen work is quite tiring. I’m about to switch my theme here so no doubt that will cause some headaches as I know very little about landing pages and widgets at present. Who would have thought this blogging lark had so many twists and turns other than just writing a post!!!

                    • Aweseome, good stuff.
I have deactivated Crowdfire, its not working for me, I am gooing to look at Hoodsuite as I have heard a lot of good things about this one. Hope it will link to the other social media channels I want to connect to. Will keep you posted.
Unfortunately I have to work today, so this will only be done hopefully later this week as well.
Take care and all the best

                    • Let me know how you get on with it. Thus far I’ve only used Crowdfire for follow / unfollow eejits. When I ramp things up I’ll need a platform that swings out like you say too. Hope you had a good weekend 🙂

                    • Thanks Esme! On an aside how many people showed an interest in the blog share list after the shout outs via Facebook and Twitter?

                    • I wasn’t actually expecting to be a named referral, just curious to see if it had generated new traffic as a result of the shout out. Its nice to know if that creates interest above what you’d normally get with a one post shot. I did have one enquiry asking if it was just food bloggers you were chasing; my reply was that you wanted any blogger to find others in different niches that they might not come across so it was an open invite. I hope that was the right answer!!
I think you should consider doing it maybe once a month and keep the profile of it going. The more it’s seen the bigger it should get.

                    • No; on Thursday you can revisit an old blog post. Put the link to the post up on there and it will get shared under the tag #ThrowBackThursday If most are like me then they will also add other hashtags too 🙂

                    • Actually I know four of the ones after my name on the list and they are from the FB group; Melanie (Intentergy) I know well from here and am just about to press one of her posts as she used my blog in a library talk about blogging and it’s community 🙂

                    • Gary you’re one of the few blogger friends that I have met that goes the extra mile. Thank you from the depth of my heart for all your help and support. You’re an absolute mensch

                    • Thank you Esme; I try to help when I can and blog engagement is one aspect I wish I could do more of! Networking and growing other peoples blogs is something I love to do too. It may change in regularity if I find a publisher, but it will still happen when time permits 🙂 Your appreciation is highly appreciated too; you’d be surprised how many people forget that part!!

                    • Thanks Gary – yes unfortunately its true. Mankind find it easier to complain and very often a kind word and appreciation never comes to mind to them. I cannot thank you enough for your support and help. Thanks again my friend. Send me some link/s then I can tweet them for you please

                    • Likewise Esme; You have also made some excellent points and have me looking at other ways to control Twitter now too! I will indeed send some links over shortly as per you most generous request. Thank you too 🙂

                    • I’ve been off line most of the week here! Catching up on things that I’ve neglected so to speak. Hopefully back up for the weekends promoting on the FB group, although off to watch Guardians of the Galaxy two on Sunday! I trust the visitors were well received 😊

                    • Gosh no, I had to drop social media for a few days to catch up on neglected chores! Also got a blog post back log that needs attending to. Time has a habit of rushing past when I’m not paying attention !

                    • Very sneaky it is! Hoping to catch up properly next week with the blog and stuff. Weekends a bit manic. All good though. And you have? Wow…thank you. I must go find your post right now. Very kind of you indeed 😊

                    • Gary. I think I may by accident figured out how to schedule tweets. I will update you tomorrow morning before going to work. Just one last test to be done and then I hope to know if its working. Off to 💤💤 now. ttyl.

                    • Of course it is; we just need bloggers to pick up on this read, comment and SHARE as a matter of course 🙂
                      Thank you 🙂
