How to eat your freshly steamed Idli….slice in half, smother both sides with thick butter and honey / maple syrup / golden syrup…. Enjoy :*
500g Semolina
1 and half cups self raising flour

1 sachet dry yeast
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup desiccated coconut
2-3 cups warm water
(+- 1/2 cup additional desiccated coconut to coat steamed idli)
Add warm water to a mixture of the first 3 ingredients (mixture must be thick, not runny), cover n leave overnight.
Mix the other 3 ingredients in the next morning (not the +- 1/2 cup additional desiccated coconut to coat steamed idli) .
Steam for 15 mins in an idli pot. Sprinkle coconut while hot. Enjoy :*
