#82 Senior Salon
Are you ready for a change?
Are you ready, for the new week of #82 Senior Salon
July 27, 02:00 am to Aug 1, 2020, 2:00 pm PST
We need your support and implore you and respectfully ask that each and every person leaving a link, share this post on your own social media. This will cause a ripple effect, as we will gain more participants, and you will also get more eyes and shares on your own posts.
Please fellow #SeniSal members, we plead and ask that you read and share the posts of your fellow bloggers. The more you give, the more you will receive. This is part of Caring for one another!
Yes, I have been hinting the past month to spill the beans, and although not August 1st as yet, but this linkup will run over my first day of retirement, i.e. 1st of August, I decided to let you all in on my secret.
Yes, I only have 5 more working days (I am not counting 😇) left, after being with a company for the past 15 years! There is a time to come and a time to go, and my time to go has come, and I will be retiring and my last day will be July 31st, 2020.
I have already been contemplating and looking into this ‘retirement’ thing for many years as we have had lots of changes at work, but due to this, that and the other, and with the pandemic, we are all in, I felt this would be the most opportune time for me to exit from my working career.
Some steps to consider and make sure you have looked hard at what you want to do and how to achieve your goals:
- Are you totally committed?
- What is your plan of action?
- Have you considered the pros and cons?
- Do you have support, from your spouse or partner?
- Are you in the right frame of mind?
What do you understand and what does the word CHANGE mean to you?
Is it just not the same anymore? Then there must have been a change. The noun change can refer to anything or state that is different from what it once was.
Change is everywhere in life — and in English. The word has numerous senses, both as a noun and verb, and is a part of many common phrases, like “a change of heart.” Change might describe a drastic transformation, as in Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, or it could also represent what’s jingling in your pocket.
I have lots of ideas and plans to work on, especially blogging related, so please keep an eye out for the new stuff coming soon …
#82 Senior Salon
Thanks for your loyal support. Please may we respectfully ask each and every participant that you keep sharing, and promoting Senior Salon on your own blog? We do require and need your help to keep #SeniSal growing and the only way we can grow, would be for you to share your links, but also to tell your own followers to come and participate.
We have two banners you can choose from to promote Senior Salon. Thank you for being part of this weekly feature.
We welcome all new bloggers and some bloggers that shared posts before that returned and shared again. We hope that you enjoy the camaraderie and will come back weekly!
The more new friends we get, the more wonderful posts we can read and share. In doing so you also promote and get your own posts shared more widely, so this will be in your own benefit as well.
Thanks, that we can count on your support ♥.

So happy to see you blogging full time and you do need to retire now for your own good. We are all here waiting for you at the other end.❤️❤️
Happy retirement, Esmé. A new chapter begins. Enjoy every moment.
Dear Hugh, thank you so much yes for sure a new chapter and I am looking forward to it and with that get more into blogging which I could not do as I would have loved to do while working full time and then for many many years up to 12-15 hour days.
Happy Retirement! Enjoy!!
Hi Catherine – Thank you so much, I totally will do just as you say and Enjoy it.
Esme, congratulations on your retirement! I had planned to work two more years before retiring early, but there were lots of changes coming and I decided to bail even earlier. Don’t even miss it. Enjoy! The first link I’m going to visit is “Tea, biscuits, and sewage”–I mean, who can resist a title like that?!
Did not know that you also already there – Good to know and we will make it work and get back into blogging big time.
Blessings on your retirement. May it give you all the opportunities you hope for, and may it be a blessing to you and your family. Share on my Facebook page. I “retired” 6/30/18. But sure there will be other retirements in my future. Michele Somerville, The Beach Girl Chronicles
Hi Michele thanks for your good wishes and I look forward to this new chapter starting at the end of the week.
Happy retirement! My husband is a few years away from retirement, but we’ve already been discussing it. He’s not content without something to do, so he’s come up with a little side business that he can do at his own time and pace.
Retirement isn’t far away for us either, but still seems very theoretical. Congratulations on your milestone!
Thank you Michele. I also thought so, but before you know it, it will be your time.
Hi Barbara – Yes I had to first wrap my head around it and then get the timing correct, can one do that, and then put it into place. Now all done and I am all done this coming Friday. Hope to be more active going forward
